The Museum’s 50th anniversary season commemorates a half-century as a living history destination dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories of the 19th-century Genesee Valley region. Spanning over 600 scenic acres, GCV&M invites visitors of all ages to explore our Historic Village, world-class Gallery, and immersive Nature Center. |
General AdmissionWednesdays-Sundays 10 am – 4 pm Enjoy immersive, hands-on learning in a beautiful, historic setting. From historic homes and working trades shops to
farm animals, fiber arts, and stories waiting to be shared, there's something for everyone-and seasonal offerings ensure no two visits are the same. GCV&M is a full sensory experience that includes
artifact-filled buildings where costumed interpreters welcome you into their spaces to share the region's cultural and social history. Plus, heritage animals, working trades shops and kitchens, and hundreds of plant species. Don’t forget, Wednesdays are Senior Days when visitors aged 62 and up get $10 admission. |
Firefly FridaysFriday, June 5, 12, 19, & 26 8 - 10 pm As a Nature preserve, GCV&M has a unique environment that encourages an abundance of fireflies. Learn
more about them and their powers of bioluminescence, right in their natural habitat. Bring your family for a guided evening hike across our Oatka Creek meadow, behind the scenes of the Museum. Tours are led by naturalists with deep knowledge of these creatures. Before or after your tour, enjoy a campfire and s’mores (weather permitting) and complete a firefly craft. |
Men's Vintage Base Ball GamesSundays June 7 (Opening Day!), 21, 28 11 am & 1 pm GCV&M offers one of the nation’s most comprehensive 19th-century base ball
programs. Each season, the Museum’s vintage base ball teams unpack their woolen uniforms, brown balls, and double-knobbed bats to play in Silver Base Ball Park, the first and finest replica 19th-century base ball park in the country. Base ball games are included with the cost of general Museum admission. |
Celtic FaireSaturday, June 13 & Sunday, June 14 10 am to 4 pm From the Scottish Highlands, Emerald Isles, and rugged Welsh coastline to the Genesee Valley,
Celtic traditions and roots run deep. Explore this rich culture at the pan-Celtic celebration of heritage music, dance, and local food and drink. Don’t miss the Highland games, shop specialty vendors and see artisan demos—plus find out about your family history at the clan booths. |
Honoring JuneteenthFriday, June 19 10 am to 4 pm Honor Juneteenth, considered the oldest celebration of the end of enslavement in the United States – and
an official federal holiday. Kids off from school June 19th? Don’t miss this opportunity to engage their curiosity and learn about Juneteenth at GCV&M with hands-on activities and more. Children age 12 and under get free admission on Friday, June 19! |
Father’s DaySunday, June 21 10 am to 4 pm It’s FREE admission for Dad on Father’s Day! Learn from tradesmiths at the Print Office, Blacksmith, and Cooper.
Speak with historical farmers about their daily tasks and meet animals on the Early Settlement Farm. Head out to Silver Base Ball Park to take in vintage baseball games at 11 am and 1 pm. Stop in at Depot Restaurant for a bite to eat or treat dad to a pint of Fat Ox or Stocking Hill Ale at the Freight House Pub! Top off your visit with sweet treats from the Confectionery – or order a special Father’s Day Chicken Barbeque Dinner. |
Landmarks & Lunch Trolley TourThursday, June 25 11 am - 1 pm Plan an afternoon outing on GCV&M's guided trolley tour, followed by a light lunch. An
interpreter will accompany you on the ride, highlighting favorite points of interest as you explore the village. After the tour, unwind at the Freight House pub and enjoy a light lunch. Each ticket purchase also includes all-day admission to the Museum, so feel free to return to the Village and explore any locations you want to spend more time at. |
Friday, June 26 10 am - 8 pm GCV&M will be open until 8 pm and tickets are $5 for all visitors after 3:30 pm (free for members). This is the second in our series of extended evening hours this season. A dozen buildings in the Historic Village will be open, along with the Flint Hill Store, John L. Wehle Gallery, and the Genesee Country Nature Center and trails. Learn from costumed interpreters and tour spaces and buildings representing home, civic, social, economic, farm, and religious life throughout the
1800s. |
