Parker Theatre's Summer Camps are Exciting, Fast-Paced, and Fun

Celebrating forty years, Parker Theatre offers one-week summer camps where each day is filled with activities, games and exercises that will keep students engaged and active. Teamwork, problem solving and fun culminates in a recital or presentation for family.

Parker Theatre camps include Improv, Sketch Comedy, Wizards and Witches and more! Here's a sampling:

ADVENTURES IN ACTING

Get ready for adventure! Learn, create, act! Campers learn the basics of theatre, create an original short play, and act it out! It's an adventure each day as campers work together to prepare for a unique and fun performance that will take place on the final day of camp.

JEDI CAMP

May the force be with you as you build your own saber to battle with on stage. Campers work together to create a script full of all types of characters and perform in their own play with action, comedy and fun.

SPECIAL FX MAKEUP

Apply special effects makeup each day of this unique camp. Techniques can be used for the stage, cosplay, halloween or just for fun! Practice glamour, glitter, old age, blood, bruises, fantasy, and more! At the end of the week, campers get to showcase their final, original designs.

MUSICAL THEATRE

Lots and lots of singing every day! Sing songs from Broadway, Disney Musicals and favorite retro and current popular music. Campers will participate in a daily warm up, learn singing techniques with simple choreography, and prepare a short recital. A performance for parents will be held during the last day on Friday.

BAKING CAMP

Campers spend a week learning basic baking and decorating in this fun camp. Practice measuring, mixing, & following recipes as you bake delicious treats and eat them! Campers will design and decorate their own unique cake to be showcased during Friday recitals. Students will also learn how to mix sodas at the in-house treat shoppe, the Soda Fountain!

Camps are held at the Studio and the Main Theatre at 3601 S State Street. Check in/check out and recitals take place at the Studio. Snacks will be available for purchase, but students may bring snacks from home as well as a lunch if taking morning and afternoon camps in the same week.
