ECMS was recently voted “Best Music School” in CITY’s “Best of Rochester 2025” readers’ poll and the 2025 Rochester Choice Awards—for the third year in a row! 

They've prepared some exciting summer programs for the Rochester community. Now is the perfect time to plan a summer full of musical adventure! To fit your schedule, they’re offering programs in different formats—weekly rehearsals, weekend intensives, and half- and full-day options. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store this summer:

Adventure Music Camp (July 27–July 31) is for band and orchestra kids who love making music, playing, learning, and exploring music from around the world, all in a supportive and fun environment. This is an exciting week-long day camp for students entering grades 5-9.  At the end of the week there will be a fun-filled performance to share the results of their adventures with family and friends!

Keyboard Explorations I & II are each a one-week daily piano intensive program for grades 3-7 (KE I) and 8-12 (KE II) from June 29 – July 3. Both programs will feature piano solo and ensemble workshops, sessions on great pianists, techniques, and historic instruments, as well as daily Dalcroze musicianship classes. Bring your love of all-things keyboard!

Guitar Intensive Workshop is open to guitarists of all levels entering grades 6-9.  It will be held from July 17-19, and they'll explore multiple styles of guitar music (classical, blues, rock, and more).

Summer Studio Orchestra is open to all Rochester Area players of orchestral instruments. The Eastman Summer Studio Orchestra celebrates Rochester’s contributions to Hollywood history. This multi-generational ensemble will rehearse and perform a variety of film scores, new studio compositions, and popular songs from the Great American Songbook with special appearances by guest vocal artists.

Individual Lessons on any instrument and voice, for all ages and abilities, are available in-person or online!  There isn’t a better time to get started than in the summer! Lessons are flexible in the summer to set up a schedule that works for you and your new teacher. Signing up is easy too. You can request a teacher by name from their wonderful list of faculty or ask them to match you with one on the registration form.
