Celebrate Mother's Day weekend with Pooh Bear and his friends

Step into a storybook at the Memphis Botanic Garden on May 9 from 10 am-4 pm for their special BLOOM Saturday.

This spring, Memphis Botanic Garden's ‘My Big Backyard’ welcomes some new occupants to the Idea Garden. Just in time for the 100th anniversary of A. A. Milne’s beloved novel, Winnie-the-Pooh, Pooh Bear and his friends are coming to Memphis to share their stories and lessons about the importance of community and working together to care for our environment.

This new garden, 96 Acre Wood, will officially open on May 9th – just in time for Mother’s Day. This special BLOOM Saturday will not only allow visitors a first look at the new Idea Garden display, but will also feature a performance of Playhouse on the Square’s Winnie-the-Pooh staged on the Great Lawn at 12 pm.

Explore More - Mingle with community partners!

Bearded Beekeeper will be doing beekeeping demonstrations and selling honey
Memphis Public Library will bring exciting reading materials and information about programs
Mississippi Wildlife Rescue will have some real-life feathered friends to meet
Playhouse on the Square will present its production of Winnie the Pooh at 12 pm on the Great Lawn
TN Urban Forestry Council will be there to talk to us about all the different woods we have in Memphis and how to help care for them

Children's Activities

Stop by a drop-in activity station conducted by the Garden's Play-and-Learn docents
Get creative with a special coloring sheet of the 96-Acre-Wood map

Welcome some of history’s most beloved storybook characters to the Memphis Botanic Garden and wish Winnie-the-Pooh a happy 100th birthday with all of your Garden friends. This event is free with Garden admission. Canceled if raining.
