Get ready to celebrate all things creative with The Buffalo Zoo at Art Gone Wild! This family fundraiser is a great way to support local artists, aid conservation, and enjoy artistic fun for all—featuring hands-on activities, animal art auctions, local art vendors, and live art demonstrations!

Back again this year, Art Gone Wild is Thursday, July 16th, from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm. All funds raised will go directly to support the Zoo’s mission of building community, creating connections, and saving wildlife.

Animal Art Auctions

The Zoo animals are getting in on the creative action! For this event only, you can bid on one-of-a-kind prints made by some of the Zoo’s most beloved residents. Each piece is completely unique—a true original you won’t find anywhere else! There will also be artwork from local artists inspired by animals and nature.

In addition, they'll feature a silent auction and an art raffle for a selection of paintings, sculptures, and other unique pieces!

Live Art Performances

Watch beautiful masterpieces come to life right before your eyes! A roster of talented local artists from across Western New York will be creating original works live throughout the evening. It’s a rare chance to see the creative process up close—and to support the vibrant WNY art community while you’re at it.

Hands-On Activities

Unleash your inner artist! Roll up your sleeves and dive into a variety of creative stations designed for all ages—from chalk art and nature-inspired crafts to painting and beyond. Whether you’re a budding Picasso or just looking to have fun, these hands-on activities are the perfect way to make your own wild masterpiece.

Animal Demonstrations

Meet the Zoo’s beloved Ambassador Animals! Expert keepers will be on-hand to introduce you to some of the Zoo’s most fascinating residents—sharing fun facts, wild behaviors, and the conservation stories behind each animal. It’s an up-close experience the whole family will love!

Art and Food Vendors

Browse a curated selection of local art vendors showcasing original works, handcrafted goods, and one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by nature and wildlife. When you’re ready to refuel, food vendors will be on-site serving up delicious bites to keep the whole family energized for an evening of creativity.

Explore the Buffalo Zoo After Hours

Stroll the grounds as the sun sets, visit your favorite animal exhibits, and soak in the unique atmosphere of the Zoo after hours with live music! It’s a magical backdrop for an evening of art, community, and connection.
