Kids Camp for a Cause at Zingerman's Cornman Farms

This summer, Zingerman’s Cornman Farms is hosting two Kids Camps for a Cause—hands-on culinary day camps designed for tweens (ages 9–12) who love to cook and want to make a difference. Located just outside of Ann Arbor in Dexter, Michigan, Cornman Farms is part of the Zingerman’s family, a working farm, event venue, and culinary destination known for heartfelt hospitality, gorgeous gardens, and food that brings people together.

Here’s what’s on the menu:

July 27, 28, & 29: Lasagna Love | Supports Ronald McDonald House
In this session, kids will learn how to make handmade pasta and Chef Kieron’s 30+ ingredient bolognese sauce, using ingredients picked from the garden. They'll assemble lasagnas for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and create a full take-home meal for four for themselves, including lasagna, garlic bread, and salad.

August 10, 11, & 12: Pancake Palooza | Supports Food Gatherers
Campers will learn to make sweet and savory pancakes from scratch using Cornman Farms’ homestead mix, plus classic corn dogs with a twist. Kids will pack up pancake mix to donate to Food Gatherers and decorate the packaging themselves. Each camper will head home with two bags of mix and ingredients to make Bacon & Thyme pancakes (vegetarian option available).

Important Information for Parents:

Cost: $300 per 3-day session
Ages: 9 to 12
Time: 9 am – 12 pm
Location: Zingerman’s Cornman Farms, 8540 Island Lake Rd, Dexter, MI
What to bring: A water bottle and a snack each day. Campers will not eat full meals during camp.
Supervision: All staff are background checked. Camp sessions are capped at 10 kids and staffed by 2 adults.
Allergens & Dietary Notes:
- No nuts will be used in any camp.
- Vegetarian options are available for all recipes.
- Due to the nature of the menus, they can't accommodate vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free diets.

Campers should be comfortable following directions, working in the kitchen with supervision, and spending some time outdoors—even in a little rain or with a few bugs. Each child receives a custom Cornman Farms camp keepsake, recipe cards, and take-home ingredients to recreate the dishes they’ve made at camp.
